I've been checking in a lot lately, and I see a lot of really original, clever, funny content being put out more and more.
It feels like we're kind of heading for another Renaissance.
Is it just me?
There have been amazing collaborations, big and small. I continue to see more and more of these bouncing up as well. And the slots filling very very quickly! I'm happy to see the animation community online is thriving and very busy. The front page this week alone has an amazing variety of comedy, spoof, serious subject matters, and drama!
I also wanna take a moment to urge people to become supporters. Even if it's a one time small contribution I know it helps bring quality entertainment to all of us in the short and long run. It took me a while to do it myself. But once I found myself with some spare cash after doing some saving, and decided to put it to use.
I owe a great debt to the relationships that I've found through this website, and this NETWORK. And I hope you can carve your own niche into the wonderfully strange home we've all found in Newgrounds, and share something truly unique with us.

Yeah man. I think art is becoming soooo accessible now, and we're becoming such a consumer/producer nation. That soon all America will be known for is literally like "Entertainment exports". It's weird. The trend seems to continue. We'll see. Hopefully we can all be on that frontline of innovation! (The way newgrounds developed)
Newgrounds is getting a surge of life. It's fantastic! I hope it becomes a bigger rival for Youtube.

Definitely feel the same way! The last one or two years in particular I keep getting surprised by some of the new submissions that pop up, and activity seems steady, if not on the rise.

Thanks for sharing the observation, the more people speak up about this sort of thing, the more people will be encouraged to engage with the site!
I'm feeling really optimistic because I think all of our upcoming updates will be well-received, while other sites keep making people upset with their updates. A lot does still hinge on peoples' willingness to become supporters so hopefully a lot more will get inspired in the coming months.

Secondly, yeah. I'd been meaning to make this kind of a post for a while, but I got on last night and was kind of really waxing nostalgic, with the feelings from the content. There have been some really really big things coming out of here lately too. It does the heart good.
Whenever I start a project I try and think HOW I can include newgrounds in some way. It really truly is a bastion of original content and creativity. I hope one day I can help grow the brand, and the idea that is newgrounds. I mean TRULY help.

Indeed you are right. People seem to be more willing to collaborate and help each other. Things heated up since I first came here. And the "game" ;) will be a part of this great Awakening!
I'd have to disagree slightly, if only because there isn't much for voice actors who aren't the big few that are in literally everything. The decent animators are not giving new VAs a chance to do things.
Why you have to make me feel guilty about not renewing my supporter status? I just put in my two weeks notice, no more job :0

@ChadVA just more VAs than there are animators, maybe? It seems natural there'd be competition with VAs considering it's less time-consuming to voice than to animate, so it's natural the ratio will be unfair no matter how many animators get aboard. Take photography for example, a similarly easy craft to get into (though of course just as difficult to master): the competition's insane. And the established VAs are good at what they do! Everyone wants a recognized name in their production.
Overall I'd say the VA community here is pretty impressive these days. Going back some years... it sure has changed. In a good way. Own forum and all. As with the rest it seems to be expanding.
